We only scheduled one Mom and Tots session in 2010, Jan. 4th to Feb. 5th however the class is full and there are no spaces available. Iif there is enough demand for this age group we may offer a second session September 6th to October 8th, 2010.

This may be one of the best things that you ever do for your child and your family.

We would love to have the chance to make your New Year a little happier so please call with any questions.

I will try and help any way that I can.

2yr Old Gabriel - Starts to use Quad Canes

Many children that attend the Mom and Tots groups have trouble rolling, sitting or standing Gabriel and his family have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season as has Gabriel just celebrated his second birthday and with the help of Ability Camp he has learned to walk using quad canes.  In five short weeks Gabriel learned not only how to walk on an even surface he has also learned to stand up from the floor using his canes, walk up and down a slope.

Children can learn so much more but it takes time and dedication as there are no instant miracles!

Parents are taught how to help their child.

Parents are the most important guide in an infant's life. We provide food,  daily care and love however in the case of a child with Cerebral Palsy or a brain injury we need to be doing more!

An able bodied child will learn basic skills such as sitting up, standing, cruising furniture and eventually walking however a child with an injured brain may miss these normal steps of progression. During the first three years of life  the brain is rapidly forming these vital connections and the more training we can give during this crucial time gives our children the best chance at continued learning

The Mom and Tots session is designed to help teach parents to turn each moment of the day into a learning experience. You are an active participant in the class. People take training to learn how to drive a car but once you take your baby home from the hospital parents get very little direction. Therapists may come to the house and demonstrate an exercise, however, if you are not very confident with an exercise there is very little chance they will be continued.

A parent should never be left wondering, "Isn't there something more that I can be doing?"  Our children deserve the best. There is so much more that can be done than just traditional therapy alone.
